Tasty & Easy Dessert: Fried Bananas & Chocolate Sauce

The other day, I picked up a whole bunch of bananas for only $0.15/lb because they were starting to brown.  That night, we had some friends over for drinks in the evening, and I didn't have any dessert to feed them, so I searched my go-to site, AllRecipes.com, for 'banana dessert' and came up with this recipe
I melted the chocolate before they arrived - and used the only fruit liqueur I had on hand, Peach Schnaps. When the guests arrived, I heated up the frying pan and added my butter - I found that two bananas - four halfs - easily filled up my pan, so for the four of us I repeated the process once more after the first bananas were fried.  While they were a VERY good deal, browning bananas do not work well for this dessert - they're too soft to start with, so flipping them in the pan is quite difficult to do - they all ended up in multiple pieces.  I did not take a photo of the dessert that night - because while it went over extremely well, it did not look appetizing.  The caramelized butter on the bananas, the chocolate sauce with just a bit of a bite - mouth watering combination.
The chocolate sauce made more than enough for the evening, so last night I made the dessert again for my husband and I  - this time with slightly green bananas, with a much better result.  I am not a food photographer, nor a very good decorator - so I apologize for the appearance of the plate - but once again - So. Good. And easy, especially since all I had to do was reheat the sauce in the microwave!

Verdict:  Try it.  You will not regret it.   Head over here for the recipe and instructions.
