Here's our two main "junk" drawers. I went through, dumped them out. Threw out tons of garbage. Found 8 non-working pens. Recycled some papers. Sorted old and new batteries. And for some reason, I fount 19 clothespins in there!
Here's the result. Much better!
This other drawer was originally for saran wrap and foil, etc, but it has become a miscellaneous drawer also.
And the "after" - so much better. I'm not quite sure what to do with the rest of the drawer. I know that if I leave that space empty, it will collect junk. I'll have to think about it.
So - do you have a junk drawer (or three) in your kitchen? What I finds that helps immensely is little plastic containers for separating things (batteries, chargers, elastics, etc.) Good luck!
Great work! What about placing the containers at the front instead of at the back? You´ll have quicker access and won´t be as tempted to fill the empty space either.
ReplyDeleteI have just joined Pinterest so this blog will be interesting for me. :D
That's great thinking, Paula! I'll give that a try! Good luck with Pinterest - it seems to take over your life... :)

ReplyDeleteYep, full of paperwork, mail, and other "stuff"... gotta get myself organized.
ReplyDeleteI really have to find a good solution for paperwork. Any thoughts, anyone?
DeleteI haven't tried it yet, but I was thinking of getting myself a large binder and putting those clear paper protectors inside and using each one to throw papers/bills etc. in to at least separate them/organize them a bit more. Probably will have one for school papers, one for "needs immediate attention" (bills, important documents, etc.), and one for "randoms". I'm actually impressed you only have a few "junk" drawers. I think I have about 3 "junk" drawers/cupboards,/baskets in every room ;). Definitely need to de-clutter over here!
